Our three year wedding anniversary trip – Day one

Anniversary Three year wedding anniversary

This past week my husband and I celebrated our three-year wedding anniversary. I know it doesn’t seem like a long time to some but for us we cherish every year we have together. My husband and I are middle school sweethearts. We started dating in the 8th grade and have been together ever since. It wasn’t one of those break up make up kind of dating histories either. We have been truly blessed in our relationship and have grown so much as a couple.

We were married August 10th, 2014. It was such a beautiful day; one of the best days in my life. I married my best friend and soul mate. We may have our ups and downs but we work through them as a couple should. Every year for our wedding anniversary my husband surprises me with a trip. He will not tell me when, where, or how we are going. Nor will he tell me how long we are staying. I am told the night before to pack mine and our sons bag. Of course, he does tell me weeks in advance that he is planning something. Then I end up asking him daily until we get to our destination.Wedding anniversary

Previous years

The first year he surprised me with a trip to Dallas, Texas. I was 24 weeks pregnant with our son and had just got back from a cruise with family the week beforehand. We had so much fun though. We went and visited the Dallas Zoo, Botanical gardens, Perot museum, and stayed at the Reunion Tower. It was an amazing trip. Our second wedding anniversary he surmised me with a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. That place is amazing I can’t wait to go back one day. We stayed at the Caesars palace and spent our time sight seeing.

This year

This year for our three-year wedding anniversary he surprised me with a trip to Fort Worth, Texas. I had such an amazing time. He got us a room at the Gaylord Texans Resort and Convention center. This resort was amazing. It had an indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, a full-size gym with several of each equipment, a spa, restaurants, a water park, shopping, and more. I would love to go back there for a visit.Wedding anniversary

Our room was gorgeous it had a balcony overlooking the indoor riverwalk. It had a plush king-size bed with smart tvs in our room and the living room. It had a full-size dining table that could seat 9 people. There also was a pull-out couch. We were able to have a crib sent up for our son to sleep in. I loved the two sets of double doors that led out to the balcony where you could sit and overlook everything. It really was a home away from home. I loved all the rivers, waterfalls, and fountains throughout the resort.Wedding anniversary

Day One

We also went and visited the Fort Worth Zoo (click the link and read all about it). I will say Rama had the time of his life and even kissed a parakeet. My husband knows I enjoy visiting different zoos so tries to have that on our itinerary when we visit various places. After we checked in to the hotel we went and got some dinner at steak and shake. It happens to be one of my favorite places to eat and of course I order the same thing at every place I visit a lot. What can I say I am a woman who knows what she likes. The waiter was super nice and had a blast playing with Rama. Our son sure is a social butterfly. He will talk to anyone especially the ladies.Wedding anniversary

We had an amazing first day and I can not wait to tell you about day two and the zoo. My husband sure knows how to surprise me with some amazing trips. He really is an amazing guy and I couldn’t ask for a better spouse and father to our son. What do you think about our adventures so far?
